There are a number of different operations in the laboratory both at a student level and at a professional level where extreme heat must be utilized for various types of procedures. Generally this type of extreme heat is much hotter than what might be present in a standard type of oven and for this reason it's often a muffle furnace that is used as a part of the laboratory equipment that's meant to heat projects to extremely high temperatures.  There are many types of muffle furnaces and most are quite affordable when they are bought individually for a particular project.
