Dealing with Stripped Screw Holes

Sometimes when a piece of lumber is being screwed together during a furniture making process the hole that's made to secure a screw becomes unusable and "stripped" of its ability to securely hold onto a screw. One of the best ways to work around this issue is to see if it's possible to use a wider screw in the hole which would eliminate the stripped hole completely. Of course, if a person is especially skilled with woodworking it's always possible that a lumber company could assist with an entirely new piece of wood if it's that important that a specific screw size be used.
